Our Rotorua Day Tour from Auckland has all the highlights, plus two great extra activity options. Travel down to the city of Rotorua in the Central North Island for a guided tour of Te Puia, one of the best places in New Zealand to see geothermal activity and Māori culture.

During your Te Ra guided tour, you'll see carved meeting houses and a Māori village set up just like in pre-European times, and hear ancient legends from your expert guide. In the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley you will experience the famous Pohutu Geyser, which can shoot steam high into the air, as well as Rotorua's famous bubbling mud pools. In the kiwi house, see if you can spot our national bird, the famous kiwi. These flightless wonders are nocturnal, so you'll need your eyes to adjust to the darkness first! Your tour also includes an authentic Māori hangi-style buffet lunch, cooked by experts at Pataka Kai. Hangi is a traditional cooking style where meat and vegetables are wrapped up and placed on hot stones, then buried in the earth and steam-roasted.

Polynesian Spa
