Get a unique behind the scenes tour of the famous Weta Workshop in Wellington, where movie magic was made for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies.
Since 1987, the talented folk at Weta Workshop have created award-winning props, costumes, makeup and special effects for local and international TV and movie productions, including Sir Peter Jackson’s famous The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
Jump on board for a 2.5 hour cinematic adventure to the Wellington suburb of Miramar - the Weta Workshop 'There and Back Again' tour.
During your tour, Weta crew members will show you the props and models they’ve created from films like The Lord of the Rings, Avatar and District 9. See artists and technicians at work on the tour stage, and if you’re really lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of them working through windows that look directly into the Workshop! You’ll also watch a special film featuring behind-the-scenes secrets and exclusive interviews, and visit the Weta Cave shop with its massive range of unique collectibles and movie merchandise.
