About Picton
Located in the Marlborough region on the north-east corner of the South Island is the picturesque coastal town Picton. This busy town is the main link between the North and the South islands, as Interislander ferries to and from Wellington arrive and depart here. The site of modern day Picton was once a Maori Pa (fortified village) called Waitohi, it was relocated to Waikawa Bay in 1844 by Sir George Grey.
