Intercity® operates daily buses from Christchurch to Invercargill with fares starting from $1 (+booking fee). The journey to Invercargill takes approximately 10 hours and 15 minutes including meal breaks along the way, and a transfer in Gore.

Buses to Invercargill depart from outside the Bus Exchange on Lichfield Street, Christchurch, and arrive in Invercargill in the Information Centre Car Park, 108 Gala Street.
