About Manukau City

Manukau City was formed due to the amalgamation of Manukau County and Manurewa Borough in 1965. On 1 November 2010 Manukau City Council was abolished due to the emergence of the Auckland “SuperCity”. Today Manukau is a mixing pot of ethnic cultures living in the Manukau district. Over 65 different ethnicities call Manukau home.
