About Cambridge

Cambridge is a small town in the Waikato region, located 24 km southeast of Hamilton, on the banks of the Waikato River.

Chiefly a farming town, Cambridge has a charming main street with flourishing trees. As well as dairy farming, Cambridge is famous for producing prizewinning Thoroughbred horses used in horse racing and showjumping.

Like its English namesake, Cambridge is also well-known for rowing. Beautiful Lake Karapiro is located only a few minutes from the town centre and is regarded as one of the premier venues for rowing in New Zealand.
