About Te Awamutu

Te Awamutu is a small town located 30 km south of Hamilton in the Waikato region. The name Te Awamutu means "The River's End". The small town is also the birthplace of the first Maori King - as well as brothers Tim and Neil Finn of the bands Split Enz and Crowded House. The town is often referred to as "The Rose Town of New Zealand", because of the decorative rose gardens in the centre of the town.
