A must-try experience for seafood enthusiasts, this Behind the Scenes Tour gives you exclusive access to the auction floor, to witness the fast-paced Dutch auction of over 50 tonnes of seafood and marvel at 100+ species displayed in iconic blue crates. Watch expert fishmongers at work from tuna filleting (suspended by forklift!) to live lobster handling, sushi preparation, and oyster shucking.

Notes

  • Please Note: Due to occupational health and safety regulations,all Sydney Fish Market tour participants must wear flat, enclosed, non-slip, rubber-soled shoes(e.g. rubber-soled shoes with grip, safety boots, or gumboots).

    Those who do not wear enclosed shoes will not be granted access to the auction floor areas, and no wheelchairs or prams are permitted.

    Tour Departure: Starts at 6:40 AM and concludes around 8:30 AM for the best experience. Please arrive by 6:30 AM for check-in, late arrivals may miss out!
