Bird’s experience

Well maintained and presented NZ bird sanctuary. The information about the birds is clear. The birds themselves are amazing and the crew in place is doing a great job.

Informative

Wonderful little green oasis in the middle of a bustling town. Wonderful combination of native trees and bird song. Very informative; we learned a lot about native birds like the Kaka, Kea, Kiwi…..Also enjoyed seeing a Tuatara close up in an excellent presentation about predators and conservation.

Great Informative Day Out

We loved the visit! The wonderful displays with lots of audio information and self paced with a map made it easy. The Kiwi Encounter was a highlight along with the Wildlife Show. Definitely worth a visit

Intimate experiences with wildlife

Kia ora, I'm a kiwi and this is the closest I've been to seeing a live kiwi and I've been to a few places in NZ to do so. I don't really agree with the loud presentation going on during the viewing (kiwis need dark and quiet) , however, it was special for me and my boys all the same. Early morning is possibly responsible for the up close foraging. The park is a good size, you must be reasonably mobile though as it is hills and potential slips. The conservation show was delightful, presenter was knowledgeable and passionate. We saw a tuatara up close!

One of the rare chance to see kiwi

It's a nice park not very big but interesting. You can approach the kiwis (5 in all) in a nice setting with a lot of attention taken to protect them. The commentaires were very good and interesting, as the presentation of other animals like the tuatura. Some animals(birds mainly) in enclosures but the presentation is very good. The entry price is quite high, try to find discounts.
