The South Island of New Zealand is famous for its stunning scenery - see its highlights as you circle the Southern Alps on this TravelPass itinerary. Please note the Mt Cook option is currently unavailable.
Your pass is divided into the following 'legs'. You can book travel in either direction (i.e. follow the itinerary from top to bottom, or bottom to top). You can also stop as often as you like along the way on each leg (for example, on the Christchurch to Queenstown leg you can book from Christchurch to Ashburton, Ashburton to Tekapo and Tekapo to Queenstown).
IMPORTANT: When booking tours you must book to and from the stops shown. Your Milford Sound cruise is shown under 'extras' on the bus service. You must select and add the cruise to your cart in order to book it. You can also add other extras to your tour in the same way. At the checkout we'll book the trip on your pass and you can pay for any extras that aren't included in your pass.
The lakeside city of Queenstown is a scenic paradise beloved by thrillseekers.
Set off on a day tour from Queenstown to Milford Sound along a spectacularly scenic route and cruise the fiord, marvelling at its beauty. Lunch is included in your pass.
Continue your journey up the wild West Coast, stopping at Franz Josef where you can visit an ancient glacier.
The West Coast is a special part of New Zealand – remote, unspoiled and wildly beautiful.
Cross over the Southern Alps on the trip of a lifetime – the TranzAlpine railway between Greymouth and Christchurch. Marvel at the scenery around you: from fertile plains to snowy mountains and river gorges.
