Board the TranzAlpine train and cross the Southern Alps on one of the world’s most scenic rail journeys, rolling through stunning vistas of farming plains, alpine peaks and lush native rainforest.
Explore the remote and beautiful West Coast, travelling between historic Greymouth and sunny Nelson at the top of the South Island.
Explore the delights of Nelson with its arts and crafts community and beautiful beaches, and Blenheim – a must-visit for wine connoisseurs .
Make your way down the east coast between Blenheim, gateway to the Marlborough Sounds, and Christchurch. Due to road closures on the coastal road between Blenheim and Kaikoura, we've added a day trip from Christchurch to Kaikoura and back onto this itinerary so you don't miss this town, home to delicious fresh seafood and breathtaking wildlife encounters.
