Make your transport plans simple with a one-way shuttle service to the start of the iconic Tongariro Alpine Crossing!

Start your day adventure stress-free by parking your own car at the end of the track in the designated shuttle pick-up area. From there, enjoy a comfortable 30-minute drive as we transport you from the Ketetahi Carpark on State Highway 46 to the beginning of your hike.

The Crossing is known as the best one-day hike in New Zealand and among the top ten single-day hikes in the world! Located in New Zealand's oldest national park, the hike of 20.2 km (12 mile) will offer you awe-inspiring landscapes including the volcanic peaks of Ngauruhoe (Mt. Doom), Tongariro and Ruapehu.

This one-way shuttle service is designed to let you focus entirely on the breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable experience of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. With reliable transportation in place, you can fully immerse yourself in the journey without worrying about return logistics. You can take as long as you need and take as many photo stops during the hike, as your own car will be awaiting you at the end of the crossing!

  • Beside the Ketetahi Carpark area on state highway 46 and take you to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. This is a one way shuttle service only.

Restrictions

  • Minimum age: 8

  • Please do not book children under the age of 8 or infants.The driver has the right to refuse transport to the start of the track


Notes

  • Please Note: Minimum numbers are required for the shuttle to go ahead. If minimum numbers are not met you will be offered either an alternative date or a full refund.

    Weather Conditions: We operate daily whenever possible, however customer safety always comes first. If conditions become unsafe due to weather or DOC crossing advice, the shuttle may be cancelled.

    The Operator will assess conditions by 5pm (or earlier) the evening before your trip, and may either cancel or place the booking on hold until a final check at 6am on the day.

    Refunds are only processed once the Operator makes a final cancellation call based on DOC advice, safety considerations, unscheduled maintenance, or similar operational factors.

  • Cancellation and Refund Policy

    Bookings requesting cancellation must be notified at least 48 hours before the scheduled date/time of transport

    Notice less than 48 hrs and before 24 hrs notice will incur a 50% refund. Notice less than 24 hrs will forfeit any refund.

    Up to 20% cancellation fee maybe applied to cover administration and unrecoverable costs incurred by us.
