Tongariro White Water Adventure ex Turangi
(Transport from Taupo Available)
Join Rafting New Zealand for the ultimate kiwi whitewater experience, taking on over 60 exhilarating rapids on the pristine Grade 3 Tongariro River.You'll raft 14km through spectacular scenery, stopping ¾'s of the way to explore the hidden Puketarata Waterfall, (Optional & weather permitting).You'll enjoy on river hot chocolate and snacks whilst floating through the Rangipo pooland when you arrive back to our base we have hot showers waiting. Enjoy our legendary 'Hot Dog' (Vegetarian Option available)with a cold NZ beverage whilst viewing your trip photo's.This is Aotearoa's best half day rafting trip.So book now to secure your seat!
Trips departing Turangi:
8.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm in Summer and 12pm in Winter.
Transport pick up from Taupo by arrangement 1pm for the 2pm trip (conditions apply)
Duration: Allow 4 hours with up to 2.5 hours on the river.
Included:
- An epic 2 hour plus of Grade 3 rafting on the famous Tongariro river with a professional, experienced, and fun kiwi river guide.
- All rafting equipment including safety gear and up to date, top quality river apparel.
- On river hot chocolate and snacks.
- Transport from accommodation if required. (Conditions apply)
- Spacious changing facilities, clean toilets and hot solar powered showers.
- A delicious river dog. Frankfurter, fresh roll, balsamic onions and a choice of sauces.
- A selection of beverages available including: A cold NZ Beer, or soda. A Hot Malt Wine or a Tea of your choice.

If you have an international phone number or aren't non-contactable you must ring us (using the phone number supplied on your booking confirmation email) to confirm final trip details, 24 hours prior to trip time.

What an amazing experience and team!
My partner and I went rafting with the team on the last day of their season. It was incredible! The team were all so upbeat, helpful and kind. We had Hannah as our raft guide, she was fantastic and gave us such a fun, adrenaline filled time to remember. Thanks to Hannah and the rest of the team, you guys rock. I wish I could add more stars ! Don’t miss out on this experience.

Amazing trip
We had an amazing time, it was fun and full.of adventure, highly recommended to anyone wanting to give rafting a go. You will not regret it! Very experienced guide with a wealth of local knowledge, gave another side to the while rafting adventure by hearing some local history/ stories.

Amazing day of rafting
Jess was a great guide, had a good time on the river, and a pleasant surprise with our 5th guest joining us during the last 1/5th of our journey (Indy)! Would recommend and do it again!

Awesome day
It was so sunny, very lucky, and the water was double than usual so the rapids were even better ans bigger waves. Gabe, the guide was really nice and friendly. Hot chocolate and hot dog were very appreciated. Thanks

WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!
Woohoo, what a wonderful morning we had courtesy of Rafting NZ. My partner and I went down specially from Rotorua to Turangi for the rafting experience and returned to Auckland (home) after that. We would plan a trip down again specially to do the Tongariro Whitewater rafting again. Thank you Gabe for making the rafting experience so entertaining. You have a great knowledge of things fauna and flora. Love the names of the various rapids, made it more entertaining. The bonus was when the raft flipped down the most placid rapid, made the experience SO MUCH BETTER!!! I love the untouched beauty out there, the beautiful canyons and the blue duck. Thanks to Conrad and Craig for assisting with the rafting experience. My partner, Mario, thought that the rafting would be too 'touristy' and whilst it was, it exceeded both our expectations. The warm showers! The fact that the wetsuit, socks etc are hosed down. The hot chocolate on the river with the chocolate fish! The river dog afterwards. What impressed me the most is the cleanliness!!! The locker rooms, toilets, shower, area where the hot dog is served with an assortment of condiments...everything is CLEAN. I love the friendliness of all staff and Indy the dog who greets you on your return from the trip. Wonderful outfit, well thought out and a wonderful experience. We will be back! and we will be bringing a load of family members with!
