Picture yourself skimming across shallow water, over sand bars, through rapids and around rocks at speeds in excess of 80kph, now picture doing this down New Zealand’s swiftest river with no seat belt and no brakes; that’s one way to get your adrenaline levels through the roof.
Set in the South Island's gorgeous Wanaka, you’ll explore the famous Clutha River at mind-boggling speeds with some of the world’s best scenery in the background.
Starting with a breath taking journey over Lake Wanaka, take in the snow-capped mountain views as the anticipation of tackling one of the world’s swiftest flowing rivers begins.
Let you adrenaline levels build as your demonstrates the manoeuvrability of the jet boat, pushing it to its absolute limits as the boat is skilfully navigated through shallow water, tunnels and over giant pressure waves! And of course any jet boat ride is complete without those famous 360 spins.
Along the way, the driver will stop for that once in a lifetime photograph and provide a fascinating commentary of the area and the jet boat itself.

Wanaka jet boat
Very nice experience on the jetboat with a mix of beautiful stories about the history and surroundings and exciting maneuvers that made the whole ride enjoyable. Without a doubt, the views of the lake is breathtaking through the waters. Highly recommended.

Good, but really not what we were expecting…
We were a bit disappointed because it was more like a “high-speed cruise” than a real thrill activity. We felt the guide wasn’t very motivated, we came back to shore 10 minutes early, and we got a maximum of 5 spins in 1 hour, which isn’t much. Maybe we just didn’t understand what the activity was supposed to be… On the positive side, the lake is incredible and so is the wildlife! Only book this activity if you’re not really into adrenaline and strong sensations – in that case it’s actually perfect!

A must-do experience.
We just expected a boat trip at high speed, but the fact that the driver stopped from time to time to give us facts and history about the area made it stand out from other similar speed boat experiences.
