Was a lovely walk through geothermal activity area. Do not put your finger in the costic water... lol 😆
The track is absolutely amazing. It leads you to all of the scenic parts of the location. You get to go really close to the geothermal action, and in some areas you are immersed in it. The staff there are friendly and very helpful too. They do have a cafe there too. I do think that you may need to take your time walking up the track if you don't have a moderate level of fitness. Take lots of water with you too, because the heat from the geothermal areas may dehydrate you.
Cool little boat ride and then a nice wonder up and around all the geothermal activity. Some cool stuff to see 😊

Worth the Walk
After arriving at Orakei Karako on a beautiful cold crisp morning and meet by delightful staff, we set off across the lake to start our adventure. An easy walk through thermal activity, well signed, and safe. This whole area is beautifully maintained, and the owners and staff should be commended. We are happy to recommend this activity to family and friends.
