Jump on board a tour to Phillip Island and get up close and personal with an array of Aussie wildlife! Check out the awesome coastline of Phillip Island and then witness one of Australia’s most spectacular wildlife experiences as hundreds of the world’s smallest penguins waddle ashore. You’ll also get to hand-feed kangaroos, get up close to koalas and spot Fur Seals on the rugged rocky coastline of the Victorian Island

We escape the concrete jungle of Melbourne and begin our day at a wildlife park where you will have the pleasure of meeting some furry Australian favourites. We will also stop here and have lunch (own expense).

We move on to tour the length of Phillip Island, known for its sandy beaches, rugged cliffs and unique wildlife experiences. Be awed by the giant surf at Woolamai beach and the rugged coastline of Cape Woolamai as we stop to enjoy some afternoon tea in Cowes. During the summer months, we take this opportunity to cool off with a visit to the beach.

At the Western tip of the island there is a majestic rocky coast, home to a colony of fur seals. We wander along the boardwalk checking penguin burrows for life and then we're on to the penguin parade. Check out the award-winning Visitors Centre and as the sun drops, witness the world`s littlest penguins emerge from the sea and waddle ashore. This is a truly magical experience.

What a disappointment

Unfortunately I booked my tour two days before daylight savings (April 4th) and due to the company's poor planning, running the tour on the summer schedule so late in the season, that day turned into a very stressful experience. We departed Melbourne at 2.30pm (half an hour late) on a Friday afternoon when sunset was at 6.30pm and Phillip Island is already 2h30 away. Of course, we got stuck in traffic, lost nearly an hour, so the guide/driver was quite stressed out cause we were running late on the schedule and he rushed us through every activity. We barely had 30 minutes at the koala park, we only had 10minutes at the Nobbies rock area, he was always pressurizing us to be fast and be on time. It was very stressful and it spoiled the experience, we were rushing and not able to enjoy anything, constantly looking at the time. The guide was very knowledgeable and a great guide but the company's poor planning ruined our day. All of this could have been avoided if only we had left 2 hours earlier, if the company had run the tour on its winter schedule. We were very disappointed with the circumstances, they definitely need to reconsider their timing.

From Phillip Island Penguin Tour - from Melbourne

Hello Cassandre, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that the timing of your tour made the day feel rushed and stressful. That’s not the experience we aim to provide, and we completely understand your frustration. Your tour took place during a particularly challenging period—it was not only right before *daylight savings ended*, but also the *first weekend of the school holidays*, which always brings *significantly heavier traffic* on the roads out of Melbourne. This unfortunately added to the delays and pressure on the day’s schedule. We’d also like to clarify that our tours run on *seasonal schedules*—with different departure times for summer and winter to match daylight hours. Now that daylight savings has ended, we’ve switched to our *winter schedule*, and the tour now departs *2 hours earlier* than it did during the summer season. This adjustment was made specifically to improve the timing and allow for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience for our guests. We’re very glad to hear that your guide did their best under difficult circumstances, that said, we’re truly sorry the overall experience fell short, and we really appreciate your feedback—it helps us to keep improving. *Customer Service | Reservations Team | GLT Group* *Ph:* +61 3 9393 1300 | *E:* bookings@gltg.com.au <info@gltg.com.au> *W:* Wildlife Tours Australia <http://www.widlifetours.com.au/> | Autopia Tours <http://www.autopiatours.com.au/> | Boutique Tours <http://www.melbournecoastaltours.com.au/> *W:* Get Lost Travel Group <https://gltg.com.au/> | Australian Bus Charters <https://australiabuscharter.com.au/> We acknowledge All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which we live, operate, and explore.
