For every dollar you spend on bus travel with InterCity, Newmans and Northliner services, you’ll earn 7.5 Freeway points. Every 100 points earned equals 1 Freeway dollar which you can redeem on future travel, either as a full or part payment.
To collect points, make sure you log in online before you pay and always provide your Freeway membership number when booking through an agent. Freeway points only appear on your account after travel.
If you find you haven’t received points for a journey, it may be because your number wasn’t entered at the time of booking. You can claim missing points by emailing us on firstname.lastname@example.org or calling our contact centre.
Points can only be claimed for bookings made within the last 6 months. You can claim points for travel up to one month prior to the date you joined Freeway. We recommend keeping your booking confirmation emails or reservation numbers until your points appear on your online statement.
You can redeem your Freeway points as either a full or part payment on any InterCity, Newmans or Northliner Express operated service. Simply visit any of our 600 agents nationwide (you can see a list of some key agents here) or get in touch with our contact centre.
Freeway points cannot be used to purchase InterCity pass products.
To qualify for Freeway points, you need to book and pay for your travel either online, through the InterCity contact centre or at authorised InterCity retail agents. Tickets purchased via New Zealand Post or with the driver won’t earn Freeway points.
You must be a New Zealand resident to earn Freeway points. InterCity pass and tour products are not eligible to earn Freeway points.
Freeway points are valid for two years from the date of travel. When you redeem your Freeway points, the oldest points are used first. To maintain an active Freeway membership, you must travel with us at least once within a 12 month period.
