About Whangarei: With the largest urban population in Northland, Whangarei is the regional hub of business and home to a large oil refinery at Marsden Point and timber processing facilities.

About Kerikeri: Often refered to as the "fruit bowl of the north" Kerikeri is a subtropical town with a history dating back to some of the first missionaries to arrive in New Zealand.
About Kaitaia: New Zealand's northern most town and archaelogical evidence shows the Far North was first settled by Polynesian ancestors of the Maori, about 1000 years ago. Kaitaia has a long history of Maori occupation and is one of the country's oldest European towns, its beginings date from March 1834 when land for the Kaitaia Mission Station was formally paid for.
